Goals are important!

Week-by-week learning can get boring and stagnant for students. Participation in events such as Opus 1 recitals, exams, competitions, and outside music groups are great ways to motivate students and develop and sense of achievement.

When should students participate?

• Reach an appropriate level

• Parents are supportive and engaged

• Demonstrate maturity

• Prefer long-term aspirations

Communicate!

Keep students and parents informed of opportunities. Communicate, however, what the expectations are and especially timelines, for participation.
