room rental

Piano students can use Opus 1 rooms to record and pay the room rental fee.
Teachers do NOT try to arrange the room rental.
For all questions about renting an Opus 1 room, including scheduling, please tell students to contact the Exam Administrator at admin@musicopus1.com.
Teachers are NOT to come to recording sessions during business hours unless they are scheduled in io.

accompanist

Voice and violin students need to have live accompaniment for the ABRSM Performance Exam.

There is an accompanist service in io and specific Opus 1 piano teachers are assigned.
Accompanists require minimum 10 days to have the sheet music before the recording date and 2 days before the first rehearsal.
If students have any questions about using an accompanist, please tell them to contact the Exam Administrator at admin@musicopus1.com.
Teachers do NOT schedule directly with the accompanist.
If an accompanist AND a voice/violin teacher are present during business hours, the parent pays for the accompanist AND the teacher to be there.

Teachers are not responsible for students’ recordings. It is the student’s responsibility to have their own recording equipment and ensure the quality of the recording. Students can rent a room at Opus 1 to make their recording, but teachers are independent and meant only to guide their students, not make the recording with and/or for them.
Teachers do NOT have to accompany their students.

Teachers CAN accompany their own students if they want to but the students need to record during a regular lesson or makeup lesson time.
Teachers are responsible for sending the sheet music to the accompanist in a timely manner.
Teachers are NOT to come to accompaniment sessions during business hours unless they are scheduled in io.
Teachers who come to the studio before their working hours will NOT be reimbursed for their time.
If an accompanist AND a teacher are present during business hours, the parent pays for the accompanist AND the teacher to be there.
