About Teacher theodora (level iIi)

Dr. Theodora is a pianist, scholar, and educator with more than 11 years of teaching experience. She holds a Ph.D. in Musicology from Cornell University and has taught students from beginning through advanced levels, including undergraduates. Her students have earned distinctions in ABRSM exams and competitions such as the U.S. Open. She also holds Certificate of Merit credentials.

Her teaching focuses on developing and maintaining confidence at the keyboard. She emphasizes healthy, efficient technique, body awareness, and injury-preventive habits, helping students build strong foundations for well-rounded musicianship and progress. From the first lesson, she encourages students to observe and understand what they are doing at the piano rather than simply imitate instructions, helping them tackle any technical challenge and become imaginative musicians equipped to explore their highest passions, interests, and goals.

In addition to studio teaching, Dr. Theodora has taught writing and music history at universities, from early repertoires to pop. She is actively involved in alternative performance spaces such as Groupmuse and believes that sustained musical study—at any level—is a meaningful investment in intellectual growth, emotional intelligence, and cultural awareness.

She collaborates extensively, and champions the music of women and underrepresented composers. Dr Theodora has performed both nationally and internationally, and is a recipient of numerous prizes.
