About Teacher john (level ii)

Teacher John earned his Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music studying with Kay Stern, and his Bachelor of Music from Bettina Mussumeli. Today, Teacher John teaches violin and viola to students of all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced performers.

Teacher John’s love for the violin began at the age of five, his family driving two hours each week to attend his violin lessons. That early experience showed him how deeply a caring and skilled teacher can shape a student’s musical journey.

His teaching approach draws on the Alexander Technique, encouraging natural body movement, freedom of expression, and healthy playing habits. He also emphasizes the importance of building proper technique, musicality, and confidence - helping each student find their own voice through music. Every lesson is tailored to the student’s individual goals, learning style, and pace.

Over the years, Teacher John’s students have achieved great success in auditions, performances, competitions, and exams such as ABRSM, RCM, and Certificate of Merit (CM). Above all, he strives to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment where students can grow as both musicians and individuals.
