Piano LESSONS in mountain view
Opus 1 Music Studio offers piano lessons for students ages 5 to adult at our Mountain View Grant Studio and at our Mountain View Moffett Studio. Whether your child is a complete beginner or preparing for ABRSM or Certificate of Merit exams, our experienced piano teachers create personalized lesson plans to match each student’s goals and learning styles.
About the Piano Program:
Private one-on-one lessons (30, 45, or 60 minutes) provide the most attentive learning experience and is tailored to each student’s individual needs and skill level, whether they are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced piano student.
We offer three (3) recital opportunities per year and additional performance opportunities, at no additional cost.
Our teachers place an emphasis on music theory, sight-reading, and ear training, alongside technique.
Styles taught include classical, pop, jazz, and contemporary.

Proper hand position and piano technique
Music reading and sight-reading skills
Music theory fundamentals
Performance preparation and stage confidence
Repertoire spanning classical, pop, and contemporary styles
Exam preparation (ABRSM, Certificate of Merit, RCM) if desired

30 min trial: $25 (Children ages 5-7 ONLY)
45 min trial: $35
60 min trial: $45
For students between 3 and 7 years old, we also provide beginner group lessons.

What will I need?
We provide instruments for initial trial lessons. Students taking regular lessons will need to have their own instrument at home to practice on.
Students are required to purchase music books and music accessories for their weekly lessons. If you have your own music books, please bring them to your trial lesson.

What age can my child start piano lessons in Mountain View?
We offer private piano lessons for ages 5 and up at our Mountain View Grant Road studio. For younger children ages 3-4, our Music for Young Children (MYC) group classes are a great way to start.
Do I need a piano at home?
Yes, students need a piano or full-sized weighted keyboard for home practice. Your teacher can recommend an appropriate instrument.
How long does it take to learn piano?
Most students can play simple songs within a few weeks. Progress depends on practice consistency — we recommend 15-30 minutes daily for beginners.
How much are private lessons?
